Working draft — mission language is aligned with jeremake.com but client should review before public launch.
Micro-Lens is a mobile organism identification app made by Jeremake, built on the mission of making everyone a scientist. Students explore, teachers monitor, and the world becomes the lab.

What Micro-Lens does
Micro-Lens gives grade 4–12 science classrooms the tools to explore the natural world — solo or as a class, in the schoolyard or on a field trip.
Take a photo of anything alive — moss, insect, leaf, mushroom — and get an identification in seconds, powered by iNaturalist.
Create a class, share a join code, and your students are in. No email invites, no roster uploads, no logins to reset.
Ask students to find five kinds of moss, three insects, or whatever fits your unit. Progress tracked automatically.
See who's participating, who's earning badges, and where the class stands on active challenges. No exports to Excel.
Scans queue when there's no signal and sync when back on WiFi. Field trips, rural schools, spotty gym-basement labs — all work.
Students save discoveries to personal collections, track their own progress, and learn to use scientific names — with your supervision, not your intervention.
Curriculum fit
Micro-Lens works across a range of grade levels and subject areas. Here's how educators are using it.
Elementary (4–5)
Life Science
Introduce students to observation and naming. What lives in the schoolyard? Can we find something new every week?
Middle School (6–8)
Life Science · Ecology
Structured challenges tied to ecosystem units. Compare biodiversity between the schoolyard and a nearby park.
High School (9–12)
Biology · Environmental Science
Taxonomic classification, invasive species tracking, biodiversity surveys. Students contribute real observations to citizen science.
Standards alignment
Micro-Lens naturally aligns with NGSS practices around planning investigations, analyzing data, and constructing explanations. We can work with your team to map specific challenges to your state and local standards — get in touch to discuss.
Trust and safety
We know what administrators worry about. We designed for it.
COPPA-aware onboarding
Every student confirms their age at signup. Under-13 accounts require teacher or parent permission before access is granted.
FERPA-conscious data handling
Student data stays in your class. Teachers see participation and badges — not individual saved photos unless a student chooses to share.
No ads, no third-party tracking
Micro-Lens has no advertising, no analytics resellers, and no data monetization. It's an educational product, not a marketing surface.
In-app safety curriculum
Every student reviews plain-language safety guidelines before their first scan — gloves, no ingesting, adult supervision, handwashing, leave-what-you-find. Reviewable anytime.

Getting started
Sign up as an educator
Create your account. No credit card, no district onboarding call. You're in.
Create a class
Give it a name, get a join code. Share the code with your students — they type it in during signup.
Post a challenge
Start with something concrete: ‘Find three different plants near school.’ Students scan, you see progress in real time.

Better together
Micro-Lens works with any phone camera — but it's designed to pair with the Make-roscope, an all-in-one pocket microscopy kit that turns any smartphone into a real microscope, capable of viewing samples up to 400× magnification.
Cheaper than a school lab. Small enough for a field trip. Made by the same team.
Making everyone a scientist
Individual teachers can sign up right now. For district-wide deployments, custom challenge sets, or educator training, our team can help.
